Our beliefs

Who we are

We are a community being transformed by Jesus’ love.

In the Bible it says that “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16).

Despite ignorning him and trying our best to live without him, God has not given up on us.

While we were still his enemies, God made forgiveness and reconcilliation possible – through the death and resurrection of his Son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus’ death for us achieves the forgiveness we need. And by rising from the dead, Jesus invites us to share in eternal life with him.

We are committed to God’s word – the Bible.

We believe that God can be known and that he has revealed Himself in history through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We also believe that the Bible is God’s word to us…his good word. What’s more, we believe that God speaks to us today through the Bible.

So together on Sunday’s and during the week at people’s houses, we gather together to read, to reflect and to pray about what God is saying to us.

We are learning how to love God and serve one another.

We’re not perfect people which is why we need Jesus’ forgiveness! But we believe that Jesus’ gift of God’s Holy Spirit is truly life-changing.

As we reflect on God’s word and pray that God will change us, we’re learning to put Jesus first. As a community, we seek to become ‘the Jesus-shaped version’ of ourselves!

Following Jesus’ example, we try and love each other as Jesus loved us – making sacrifices for each other, protecting one another and learning from one another.

And we want to share God’s love with our district and beyond.

At Dural Anglican, we want our district to know Jesus’ love for themselves. We want our friends and neighbours to know the joy of being fully forgiven by God. And we want people to know the sure hope that we have of sharing in Jesus’ resurrection – the promise of eternal life!
